Santa 2012

A few weeks ago, we went to a local photographer's studio to get our annual Santa pictures taken.  This is our third year with this Santa.  It's hard to believe we've been here for three Novembers already.  Wow!  I should really go back and find the other images.  In 2010, Elaina was super bald and just barely a year old.  Last year, she still cried but this year... they look like girls.  Not little girls either.  Time, please stop.

Elaina told Mia what she wanted and Mia wrote it down for her.  It was a super sweet moment.  I should have taken a photo of their letters to Santa but sadly, I forgot and they left them with him.  From memory, Elaina asked for everything pink.  A pink guitar, pink drums, pink flip flops, pink toys, and a pink kindle.  She's all girl, that's for sure!

I'm so glad we have a picture of her like this.  If you are around her enough, you know Elaina (or E-nana as she calls herself) plays with her hair constantly.  She twirls her ponytail, rubs her hair, and loves for it to be combed.  All girl, I tell you.

Cheesing with Santa.

Mia's list looks awfully close to Elaina's (imagine that!) but she asked for a guitar, Kindle or iPad, Rainbow Magic books #1-7, and some art supplies.

Santa was saying, "You think you've been THAT good!?!?" ha!

We wish our family a very merry Christmas from Tennessee!  We will begin our Advent calendar tomorrow!  Pictures to come!

Advent Painting

November has been fun here.  Steffie's work has been quieting down so he's been able to spend more time in the afternoon at home, which the girls are loving.

Elaina has started to get quite creative with her clothing.  I snapped this quick shot of her with white gloves on her feet and putting on her "high shoes" (sandles with a slight heel).  Cracked me up.

This past weekend, we took some time out to create our new Advent Calendar.  Elaina got to paint the top of the box, and Mia the bottom.  I will post the final product but we also decorated 25 small cards and put numbers on them to open every night of December, leading up to Christmas.

Welcome!! (and October's post)

Well, I figured it was about time to start a family blog so everyone can keep up with the happenings of our little family.  This will be a place we see showing off what's been going on with us, pictures of the girls, and a way for all of those far away to feel like they are included here in TN.

First things, first.  Back in October, we took a short trip (as in a mile or two) down the road to Shuckle's Corn Maze.  We went and shot corn cobs at a dilapidated car, slid down a large slide and laughed till our sides hurt, and the girls picked out their pumpkins.  A look at our animal family (including Kristine, our new daughter... the horse!)

Mia, of course, didn't want to dress for the corn maze so she wore one of her favorite dresses.  We pick our battles these days. :)

We also enjoyed the Fall Extravaganza at Bluegrass Country Club in October as well.  Our Titan's cheerleader and Mini Mouse had a blast.  Daddy was in charge of the scary hay ride, and the girls ate it up!
